Whenever and wherever you chose to give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body and your spirit for the rest of your life.
Your Journey.
No matter what way you choose to give birth as long as it feels right for you as a positive empowered birth experience will pave the way for confident parenting and better mental well-being.
As a doula it’s my goal to empower you and your partner to achieve the birth you want.
What is a Doula?
A doula is a birth companion derived from Ancient Greek who supports birthing partners in sharing her knowledge about the birthing journey and holding space.
Doulas of North Americas (DONA) defines a doula as follows:
A trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.

Improve your outcome with a doula.
Woman that are supported through a doula are -
Less likely to have a caesarian section.
Less likely to use oxytocin to speed up labour.
Less likely to use any pain medication.
Less likely to rate their childbirth experience negatively.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Many health insurance providers cover certain pregnancy and baby related services. Some cover baby carrying consultations, on-call services before you go into labour or postpartum support at home. Please check with your health provider individually.
Having a doula with you means your partner can participate in a way that is comfortable for them. Labour can take a long time and your midwife might not have the capacity to be with you all the time as hospitals are busy. As doula I will support you and your partner to give your partner a break when needed and to support you with all tips & tricks from my tool kit.
Doulas do not perform any clinical tasks. As your doula I am focused on your emotional and physical comfort. Many hospitals try to facilitate 1:1 support but this is rarely the case. Often your midwife will be looking after at least one other women in labour. Evidence clearly shows that women with independent – non hospital doulas have better outcomes. Your doula does not replace your midwife but works alongside her in a collaborative way. When your midwife is on break or goes home at the end of her shift I’m still there with you and your partner.
As your doula I’m committed to be available to support your birth and will limit the number of clients on my calendar to avoid birth conflicts and to ensure that I can support you in labour. I’m available two weeks beforehand and two weeks after your due date. Being on call for up to 4 weeks takes considerable dedication and requires a very high level of personal sacrifice such as missing holidays, anniversaries and birthdays as your birth could be any time at night or day and I may spend the next 3 hours or even 3 days with you in labour. My pricing reflects that committment.
